With Leo Active Sound 7.0, we focus on authenticity. Instead of composing artificially generated sounds, we rely on original engine and exhaust sounds from real performance vehicles. These are recorded in an external, professional vehicle acoustics test bench, where sound spectra, resonances, and frequencies can be precisely captured under controlled conditions.
The resulting sound data is then digitally processed, optimized, and adapted for use in the Active Sound System. This creates a sound profile that conveys dynamics, character, and authenticity – a far cry from synthetic sounds.

What’s behind our sound?

In the acoustic test bench, the vehicles are recorded using highly sensitive measurement microphones and state-of-the-art recording technology. This produces precise sound data across all load and speed ranges. This data is then analyzed and refined using digital signal processing so that it can be faithfully reproduced in the Leo Active Sound 7.0.


The result: an authentic driving experience that realistically conveys the character of an engine – tailored to different driving modes and individually adjustable.
